Your address on the family's own mail server. Any existing
address you use keeps working exactly as it does now.
⚠ You need your mail password first
Ask Chris, or find it in your password vault once that is set up. It is
deliberately not on this page — anyone can open this page.
The settings
mail.foltzcloud.com
Incoming AND outgoing server — the same for both
993
Incoming port — encryption: SSL/TLS
587
Outgoing port — encryption: STARTTLS
Your username is your whole email address, not just the
part before the @.
On your iPhone
Settings → Apps → Mail
→ Mail Accounts → Add Account
→ Other → Add Mail Account
Fill in your name, address and password, then Next
Make sure IMAP is selected at the top, not POP
Use the server above for both incoming and outgoing
Next, then Save. It may sit on
“Verifying” a while — that is normal
⚠ The outgoing section says “optional”. Fill it in anyway.
Leaving the outgoing username and password blank is the single most common
reason sending fails afterwards while receiving works fine.
On a laptop (Thunderbird)
Account Settings → Account Actions
→ Add Mail Account
Enter your name, address and password, then Continue
Give it a moment — it often finds the rest itself. If it does, press
Done and you are finished
If not, click Configure manually and use the settings above
If email goes wrong
Cannot connect — almost always a typo in the server
name. Use the copy button rather than typing it.
Receiving works, sending fails — the outgoing
username and password were left blank.
Password rejected — check the username is your whole
email address.
2 · Your password vault
The family's own password manager. You use it through the normal
Bitwarden apps — Bitwarden is the app, this is the server
it keeps your passwords on.
⚠ Read this before you sign in — it is the step everyone gets stuck on
The Bitwarden apps talk to bitwarden.com by default. Ours is not there.
Sign in without changing that and it says
“invalid credentials” — which sounds like a
wrong password but really means it asked the wrong server.
Set the server address before your
first sign-in.
The vault server address
https://vault.foltzcloud.com
Paste this into the app's Server URL box
On your iPhone or iPad
Install Bitwarden Password Manager from the App Store
Open it. Do not type your email yet
On the login screen, tap the gear (or the region selector)
and choose Self-hosted
Paste the address above into Server URL, and save
Now sign in with your email and master password
On a computer (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
Install the Bitwarden extension from your browser's store
Click it to open. Do not type your email yet
Click the settings cog on the login screen and choose
Self-hosted environment
Paste the address above into Server URL, and save
Now sign in
Once it is in, pin it to the toolbar — it will offer to fill passwords
as you go.
If you do not have an account yet
You cannot sign yourself up, on purpose. Ask Chris for an invite. If the site
will not let you create an account, that is why — it is not broken.
Your master password
This is the one password you have to remember, and the one thing nobody can
recover for you — not Chris, not the server. That is the point of it, but
it means: pick something you will genuinely remember, and write it down
somewhere physical and safe until you are sure of it.
Do not store it in the vault it unlocks.
Still stuck?
For the vault it is almost certainly the server address — signing in
before setting it. Sign out, set the address, sign in again. If that is not it,
ask Chris rather than making a second account; that makes a tangle rather than
a fix.
